A
washing machine water inlet valve is a component of a washing machine that controls the flow of water into the machine. It is located at the back of the machine and is connected to the water supply hoses that bring water into the machine.
The water inlet valve typically has two or more solenoid coils that open and close the valve to control the flow of water. The number of solenoid coils varies depending on the type of valve used in the machine. As mentioned earlier, there are two types of water inlet valves: the single solenoid valve and the dual solenoid valve.
When the machine is turned on and the cycle is started, the control board or timer sends a signal to the water inlet valve to open. Once the valve is open, water flows into the machine through the hoses and fills the tub to the appropriate level. The valve then closes automatically to prevent overfilling.
If there is a problem with the water inlet valve, it can lead to issues like low water pressure, no water flow, or water leaking into the machine. In such cases, the water inlet valve may need to be replaced by a qualified technician.
